Good day, my husband has an Italian passport and we have been told that after 3 years we should register our marriage in Italy. How do I go about doing that and what documentation is required. Many thanks

What I know
Buongiorno a tutti,
My paternal grand father was born in Italy and moved to SA just after second world war. For myself and my 2 kids....what I had to do. I needed the following all unabridged: Grandparents marriage cert, grandfathers death cert, fathers birth, parents marriage, my birth, my marriage and both kids births. As well as a letter from home affairs stating my grand father never nationalized here. I had to register everyone (I did both my brothers stuff as well), give photo's (not sure how many) of each person. Myself and both my children have Italian passports now. BUT because they are minors their father has to be there with us when applying, he needs to sign permission for them to get their passports. This is info I just found out:
1. Fill out the application form and either fax or e-mail it to them.
2. 3 days later, call and make an appointment to go see them.
3. Day of appointment take with: 2 x colour pics, ID document (I registered you.) and R 1 000.00.

PLUS: for minors (my note)
4. Must fill out attachment for minors for and both parents must sign either in front of Consolato or Police.
