Development Worker with diverse experience in program development, program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building and networking with development partners both International and local NGOs (CBOs/FBOs) and District Local Government directly strengthening their capacity to in the fight against HIV/AIDS as well as engaging local community structures(traditional, religious, community, Community Development Officers, Local Councils, para social workers) understand their role in the HIV/AIDS response in their communities. I have been instrumental in raising awareness-raising and/or sensitization campaigns and other HIV/AIDS services in collaboration with the Community Social Services team of District Local Governments in the operational areas. Developing a long term career in organizational development and capacity building through an institutional based approach to input and influence the implementation strategies tailored to clientele needs that would be further enriched by research.
I have good knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS issues, research methodologies & needs assessment, disability, computer skills, and ability to build the capacity of others in a team, demonstrated commitment to organization, knowledge sharing and experience, HIV/AIDS gender mainstreaming at organizational level both private and public sectors, writing donor reports, working with DFID funded or other donor projects, strong partnership, advocacy, coordination and networking skills with stakeholders, training & facilitation skills, strong planning, community mobilization, gender, policy and advocacy, inter-cultural communication skills, budget management skills, experience in staff supervision. Has been at the forefront of coordinating the selection and placement of students in vocational institutions in the district and mobilizing vulnerable communities in Western Uganda to realize their rights. My broad based training and interests in other cultures, coupled with a command of several languages have developed my confidence in handling and dealing with people of different walks of life to achieve organizational targets.
