The Iranian embassy in Canberra is run exactly like all government businesses that deal with the public are run. They dont give a care about you!
I am married to an Iranin and 5 years ago, we wanted to take our 3 children to Iran. Called and called for literally weeks, no answer. Then we loaded up the family and drove to Canberra to ask our questions. Long drive, rented hotel, went to iran embassy in the morning. Closed for unknown reason on a Wednesday. next morning open, took a number, waited and waited and waited. when called, man refused go talk to me and referred only to my husband. after some word exchange, hubby said, lets go! I asked whats happened? He said, dont worry about Iran, I will never step foot back in that Country again. Turns out, the man at the window told him to call the phone number provided on the webite to get the information you ask for, he asked my husband why is he bothering him with such basic questions??? What a joke! Now my brother in law wants to renew his passport, tried caling and calling and calling...oh allah help me.

I cannot believe how hard it seems to be for an employee to answer the phone or reply to an email . We have needed an answer to a simple question regarding my fathers passport for almost 2 months now as he needs to arrange travel to Iran. We have emailed and called SEVERAL times yet there are no one answers the phone or seems to know how to check emails so it looks like he will have to fly to Canberra to get some answers. This is not only extremely inconvenient but it's simply ridiculous in this day and age.
Seems to be a total joke. Someone needs to go in and provide customer service training to the embassy staff to fix this slack communication. This is simply embarrassing. Fix your internal processes please.
