Comments on this Consulate-General
Hi gm I am kindly asking if any information with my passport I really need it
I would like to know the cost to renew my passport
I visited the consulate in N.Y.. I must say I reached there at 8.35am the men at the door was very polite. First I must say office open at nine, the cashier was here after 9.30 and the lady at window 3 had to help out. The lady at window 5 was rude when I try to explain my point and visit there. It's been 1 and a half hour now and I am still waiting for a document to be notorised.
Shame shame..... need to do something better.
A born guyanese.
Well I must say I am ashamed in a way to say I am guyanese. These people that work in the Guyana consulate in NY are so rude and NASTY. shame on you guys. Find another job. What purpose do you serve us guyanese if all you do is say " here is the number call Guyana for your information ". You might as well close the place.

Passport information
I have been trying to get my husbands passport on an emergency basis for travel, this is a life and death matter and I have three days in which to get the documents for travel and still gotten no where with this issue. I was told the passport would be expedited but still nothing. I have called Guyana and spoke with several individuals about this matter and I'm getting nowhere fast, how is one to feel positive about the service when no one can answer any questions?
how do i go about renewimg my passport in ny and how much is it?
The Guyanese people that work here are all very disrespectful, rude and unprofessional. They act as though they are doing you a favor by answering the phone. They speak with you rudely and are never helpful. They should all be fired and replaced with a much more competent staff. If anyone who cares about customer service is reading this, there needs to be a change. It makes Guyanese look incompetent.

My Fellow Guyanese,
Please try to be patient with the staff at our Consulate offices for they are poorly trained and think that they are doing you a favor by working there.
lol
Anyway, you should all know that it is no longer possible to renew a Guyana Passport; you must apply for a new passport every time your old passport expires.
Love y’all.
