Comments on this Embassy
I took the pains to email the Ghana embassy knowing that no one would reply, boy was I wrong. I got a reply from the embassy the following day stating that they've received my email. So I emailed them back to find out how long the process is going to take but no one bothered to reply back. Anyway, I crossed my fingers and waited. Lo and behold, I received a pink slip from the post office on May 22 2015. When I went to pick up the package, I was astonished to find out that it was actually my new passport. The whole process took exactly 21 days. I mailed in my old passport and the application on May 7th 2015. And received my new passport on May 22nd 2015.
Reading all the negative reviews here makes me wonder if you guys did what is required of you. I must admit, I had a pleasant experience with the Ghana Embassy in Washington DC. When my passport was due for renewal I came online to seek information on how to go about it. But, the negative reviews here about how the Ghana embassy has poor customer service and how incompetent they are almost made me change my mind. But, for some reason I decided to give it a shot. First of all, I went to the post office and bought the $130 dollars money order the embassy required of all passport renewal applicants. And I told the post office clerk that I need a self-addressed prepaid overnight Express Mail. When I got everything I needed, I filled out the application and mailed it to the embassy. Exactly four days after mailing it I had a voice mail from the embassy asking me to complete the application by filling the witness portion, which is number 15. The caller made it clear to me that if they don't hear from me within the next 24 hours, they are going to send my passport and application back to me. Immediately I heard the voice mail I acted quickly. I went online and downloaded the form and filled out the number 15, and emailed it to them. I tried calling them to find out if they've received my email but unfortunately no one is available to pick up the phone. So I blocked my number and called back again, and this time around I was able to get in touch with someone. But unfortunately she couldn't help me. She told me to email them. To be continued. Stay tuned!!
I sent in my application for passport renewal since march, and I haven't heard from them yet. I called the phone number so many times but no one ever pick up the phone. Maybe we should petition Ghana government to look into this mediocre workers.
I am traveling with my family from usa through accra. Leaving on Tuesday with no way of knowing where are my passport at this time. For something so important and stressful there must be a way to track or get infos about your application. Is anyone knows how to reach them beside an email? Because I tried the email too.
I mailed my passport for renewal since April the six weeks falls on this week. Please I know you have a lot in your plate already. Please time is ticking.
I submitted my passport application along with my old passport since the first week of Febuary . I have been calling them again and again and this lady will pick and forward it to the supposed passport line or something and there is no body there. So i am stack and can't get my Green Card prossessed.
I submitted my passport for a renewal since April I have not receive yet please can it be soon because I need it thanks
Let's all petition the president. The delay in passport renewal and delay shown how inept our leaders at the embassy are. They are quick to get appointments as diplomats but neglect their duties. I think they should abandon the building and go sight-seeing so that we know we don't have a representative in the United States.
my girl friend is American she is flying from usa to Nigeria to visit a sister before coming to me in ghana how can she get Ghanaian visa to come to me in ghana Please does anyone knows a way out, she really need to come to ghana and see me thank You.
its a shame how our own Ghanians doing to our own selves , i was told by my roommate who is a Liberian that its better if i use my green card with my expiring passport and when i get to Ghana then i can renew it there, but since i said i want peace and dont want to be disturb while going to Ghana , plus am going with my daughter thats why and i did bought a 180 dollars money order, four size of passport pictures, with the old passport, and all that they needed, even with the returning express envelop and they got it since 30th March 2015 at 12:28pm and i have been calling and calling , will put me on hold for hours and hours but i never give up calling , then one time so lucky they answered me and told me the passport place dont have a phone so its better i emailed them and this woman gave me the email , i swear i did send this and it bounce back to me again, i never get no answer again nor i keep tracking and no results , this really sucks, these so called leaders in everything do too much , they make me sick and what make me upset is i did send mine before my daughter and her's is here with everything and still,
