Gnanarasi- Tavalakuppam
Madam,
You were born in POndicherry in 1983.Your father and ancestors are also from Pondicherry, If you wish to claim CHF, you have to prove that either your fahter or mother was a french national at the time of your birth,
You say that your father was a bachelor. Was he a graduate or unmarried lawfully? During the period of option he was in Singapoor. Do you have any evidence for this, particularly his passport. Is the passport was Indian or French?, If he stayed alone in Singaspoor while his family residing in Pondicherry during the option period, you cannot say that he had his domicile in Singapoor, therefore not covered by the Franco- Indian treaty,1956 which came into force on 16.08.1962. Domicile of nationality under the said treaty requires his working and living with his entire family members out of French India.to claim exemption for option declaration to conserve french nationality,
The date of your father is not given. If he was a major as on 16.08.1962 he should have made his declaratio of option to conserve his french nationality.Otherwise he will lose his french nationality and become Indian, As born to your father who became Indian by the effect of the said treaty, and living in Pondichery you are eligible to claim Indian nationality, Yours sincerely,
