To get french nationality
I was born in Pondicherry and my dob is 22nd January 1971. We are settled in Pondicherry for more than hundreds years. My grandfather worked in French government, but I don't know whether he submitted his option @ French consulate to become French citizen. My father worked in Chief-Secretariat as PA to Labour commissioner. Both are expired. Please help me whether it is possible to obtain French nationality.

Swaminathan
Sir
You must prove that your father or mother was a french citizen or they conserved french nationality at the time of your birth. Your father was a minor on 16.08.1962, date on which French India became legally a part of Indian union. Please know the effects of the Franco Indian treaty 1956 on your father and his father. Yours sincerely
Swaminathan
