I have completed M.A french in Pondicherry University. And right now working as a full time french teacher in an international schoo handling IGCSE syllabus. Is there any possibility for me of getting job in French consulate in Pondicherr? Can you please clarify it me. If so how can I apply to the jobs in it?.

At first you enquire your mother whether your father opted for french nationality. If so he should have the certificate of option and french consular card and voted in the french elected conducted in french consulate, Lycee Francais, etc.. after 1962.

Can my mother claim french citizenship as she got married in the year 1967 stating that her in-laws where Pondicherry residence. I am not aware of my grand-father (paternal) opted for french citizenship in the year 1962. If he opted for French citizenship how to check?

If you were born before 16.08.1962 you can claim though your father. If it is after 16.08.1962, you can claim through your father and mother, if they are french. Further you must know the effects of the franco indian treaty 1956 which came into force on 16.8.1962, on your father and yourself, Yours sincerely.
