My friend got the french nationality before 2 years. The suitation of the papers is same for him and also to me. Shall I get the nationality for me by keeping his nationality paper as a refreeze. Because both of the papers situation are same but the family is different. I hope you will give the right answer

There is a Franco Indian Treaty of 1956 which came into force on 16.8.1962. Six months time from this date was given to french nationals born in French India, who have completed the age of 18 years and were domiciled either in Fr. India or Indian Union, to give a written declaration of option in CGF at Pondicherry to conserve the french nationality. The father if he was not alive, the mother and if both were not alive, the legal guardian should include the name of minor children aged below l8 years born in Fr.India, in their declaration of option. If the above conditions are fulfilled in your case, you can claim for Fr. nationality certificate before the concerned Greffier en chef in Paris or file a suit for declaration of Fr, nationality by filiation in TGI at Paris by engaging a Fr. advocate. You are advised to contact a french advocate in Paris for further details. Yours sincerely
