SIR,
you were born in 1955 in Pondicherry under french regime. You were a minor aged below 18 years on 16,08.1962, date of dejure cession of fr. India into Indian Union.
You have to prove that your father was born in French India and submitted his declaration of option to conserve french nationality by including also your name in the CGF at Pondicherry, within the period of 6 months from 16.08.1962. If your father did so, he and yourself have conserved the french nationality. Otherwise your father became Indian and you followed his condition,
The petition for cert. of fr. nationality can be sent to the Greffier i/c of fr. nationality of the french persons born and settled out of France, He is an officer. If he finds that you have fulfilled the conditions and filed all the necessary etat civl docts, he will issue the certificaste of french nationality, Otherwise he will reject the petition, Thereafter if his decision is erroneous, you can make appeal to the Law minister or even file a suit before the french courtTGI at Paris for a declaration that you are of french nationality, For this you have to engage a french advocate practising before the said court.
At prsent it is very difficult to get french. nationality certificate, The Greffier, to examine a petition for CNF may take about 2 years time. If you don't enclose all the relevant etat civil docts he will reject your petition as not proved. Yours sincerely,

Sir,
I understand that your father belonged to a family of renoncants. You have not stated whether he opted to conserve his french naationality after 16.8.1962. If not he will become Indian. Your father did not register his marriage Your date of birth not given. At first please prove that your are a french national. Then you can study your marriage with a muslim lady, Yours sincerely
Madam.
You were born after 16.08.1962, date of dejure transfer of Fr.India to Indian Union, So, you have to prove that either your father or your mtther conserved their french nationality at the time of your birth. This is your personal matter. Please contact a french advocate directly in his office, instead of wasting your time in this site. Yours sincerely

Madam,
If you were born in Fr.India, ie Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and yanam and aged more than 18 years on 16.08.1962, you should have opted to conserve the french nationality. Otherwise you became Indian, If your father was born in Indian Union including Chandernagore (ex french territory near Calcutta) and yourself a minor below 18 years on 16.08.1862 both of you have conserved the french nationality, This reply given without seing your papers is not decisive, You can also study the effects of Franco Indian treaty 1956 which coame in force on 16.98.1962, to know well your cawe, Yours sincerely
