Comments on this Consulate-General
I HAVE READ THE ABOVE AND DO NOT KNOW WHETHER WHAT IS STATED IS TRUE OR NOT--THAT YOU CLOSED IN 2013. I VISITED YOUR CONSULATE IN 2006 BECAUSE THE NYC CONSULATE WAS NOT WILLING TO HELP. I MET WITH THE CONSUL GENERAL KEHRER WHILE I WAS RESIDING AT 1164 NORTH DEARBORNE AVE., NO. CHICAGO. I WOMAN, GERTRUDE, LIVING THE SAME BUILDING, WAS ALSO FROM LINZ, AUSTRIA AND THE UNITED STATES ALSO DID NOT WANT TO ASSIST WITH ANYTHING. I WILL SEND YOU A FAX WITH UP TO DATE INFORMATION IF YOU ARE STILL OPEN
IN CHICAGO. I WILL INVESTIGATE FURTHER. CONSUL
KEHRER SAID SHE WOULD ASSIST ME BUT AT TIME I DID
NOT HAVE ALL THE DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO MY DIVORCE
SINCE MY HUSBAND, MR. HERMAN, HAD SEIZED MY SON AND
ALL MY POSSESSIONS AND MOVED TO FLORIDA. BECAUSE
I AM FROM AUSTRIA I HAVE BEEN GIVEN NO HUMAN RIGHTS--
I AM IN NEW YORK CITY SINCE A YOUNG CHILD. DORA.
I just went to you web site for information and saw that you were closing at the end of 2013! Why is it that such a large city as Chicago does not have an Austrian Consulate?
I was born in St. Florian, Austria, but am a naturalized US citizen. I can't believe that my home land is deserting us.
Marta
I have had information on Austria sent to me. I have found some more that you can find about the country of Austria in a universidad bibliotek. Government documents & federal depository library. Auf wiedersehen!
It would be nice if you could post the days they are closed, for instance I know that will be the case for May 24 and 31. Nothing so frustrating as making a long drive to get there and then finding out it happens to be a national holiday for that particular country.
